Dear all,
The first Friday Speaker Forum of the semester is coming up this week, and
will be a great one to start the year off with. The founder and Chairman
Emeritus of the M/A/R/C Group, Mr. Bud Phillips will be talking about
"Ethics in Marketing Research". Kay White, whom some of you may remember
from Fall's Professional Development Seminar, will be here, too.
Here is a brief summary of Mr. Phillips' presentation and career:
Attaining a high level of professionalism in the marketing research industry
necessitates proper ethics. Mr. Phillips will discuss ethical and unethical
practices used by suppliers and clients. Topics will include low-ball
pricing, lack of objectivity, respondent abuse, and lack of data validation.
Mr. Phillips founded M/A/R/C Research in 1965 and has served as President,
Chairman, and Chairman Emeritus of The M/A/R/C Group.
The presentation will be held in Room 609 of the Business Building, as
usual, at 5:30 pm this Friday (the 26th). A cocktail reception will be held
in Room 608 at 6:30 pm, till late. I'm also attaching a flyer with these
details; please feel free to pass it on to others who may be interested.
See you there,
Roohi
