Training Calendar
The Training Calendar is a monthly publication distributed by
The Office of Staff Development and Employee Assistance (SDEA).
The calendar is designed to provide the UTA community with an
up-to-date list of workshops offered by the SDEA Training Department.
All workshops are open that to UTA Faculty and Staff. Interested
parties may subscribe for free by following the instructions at

May 1st Implementing Change
1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

$50.00 fee.
If change is going to happen, people must make it happen. This three-part
program, hosted by Dr. Jerald Jellison, Professor of Psychology at The
University of Southern California, provides a realistic framework for
understanding how people, relationships, and techniques work together
in the change process.
May 2nd New Employee Orientation
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (Lunch Provided)

Suggested audience: All new hires since
January 2001
Presenters: Training staff, various Dept.
Reps., & Human Resources
The new structure of Orientation will include 3 of the Staff Development
10 Essentials: UTA Orientation (8 am-10 am), Customer Service (10 am-noon)
and Institutional Compliance (1:00-3:00 pm). New employees are required to
come for the full day. Current employees may attend any of the sections
they need to fulfill their 10 Essentials.
May 5th – 12th National SAFE KIDS Week
Preventable injuries are the leading killer of children under 15.

May 15th Caring for an Elderly Loved One

Either now or in the future, you may have to help make decisions for a
“seasoned” citizen in your family. Dr. Kyba will aid you in dealing with
