The Training Calendar is a monthly publication distributed by the Office of Staff Development and Employee Assistance. The calendar is designed to provide the UTA community with an up-to-date list of workshops offered by the Office of Staff Development and Employee Assistance. All workshops are open to UTA Faculty and Staff. Interested parties may subscribe for free by following the instructions at the bottom of this message. If you would like to sign-up for any of these classes, please complete the Training Class Reservation Form located in the back of your Staff Development Portfolio. *GED preparation classes are available at no cost every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:30-5:30. Please call Ext. 7292 for more details.
*A copy of the Staff Development Plan Forms are due in the Office of Staff Development on November 1st, 2000. Please forward your forms to campus mail box 19176 or fax them to ext. 7288. If you have any questions regarding this part of the Staff Development Portfolio, you may contact us at ext. 7292.

What: Internal Controls 101 (One of the Staff Development 10 Essentials)

Overview: Attendees will receive essential knowledge on the proper management of departmental resources (i.e. equipment, supplies and expenditures). Internal Controls is everybody's responsibility.

Suggested audience: Employees who drive UTA vehicles

Overview: This class is designed to assist UTA vehicle drivers to effectively navigate the roadways of our University community.
November 8th
What: New Employee Orientation (NEW Schedule for Staff Development)
When: 8:00 am-5:00 pm (Lunch Provided)
Where: J. D. Wetsel Building Room 200
Suggested audience: All new employees
Presenters: Training staff, various Dept. Reps. and Human Resources.
Overview: The new structure of Orientation will include 3 of the Staff Development 10 Essentials: UTA Orientation (8:00 am-10:00 am), Customer Service (10:00 am-12:00 pm) and Institutional Compliance (1:00 pm-3:00 pm). New employees are required to come for the full day. Current employees may attend any of the sections they need to fulfill their 10 Essentials.

What: Technology Proficiency Exam
When: 8:00 am-12:00 pm ($15 registration fee per module)

Suggested audience: All UTA Employees
Presenter: UTA Measurement and Testing
Overview: This 3 level certificate based exam is designed to help UTA employees put their computer skills to the test. Please contact the Office of Staff Development at ext. 7292 to receive a detailed brochure on this fabulous new addition to the Staff Development Program.
