The Women's Studies Program at Southern Methodist University is
co-sponsoring an event in support of the Revolutionary Association of Women
of Afghanistan to be held March 8 - 9,  International Women's Day.  They are
raising funds to assist R.A.W.A. and raising local awareness of the ongoing
need to demonstrate support for the restoration of full political and social
rights to Afghan women.

March 8, 9:00-10:00, Lecture at SMU (Alicia Lucksted), McCord Auditorium,
Dallas Hall

March 9, beginning at 11:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Women's Museum, Fair Park
(Dallas)
        Featuring Dr. Anne Brodsky and Alicia Lucksted, U.S. Associates of
R.A.W.A., followed by multimedia presentation and performance

Formed in 1977, R.A.W.A. is the oldest women's humanitarian and political
organization in Afghanistan.
