Attention: Students Making Visa Application in Mexico & Canada

The Department of State released a memo yesterday stating that:

        1) Beginning 11/16/01 appointments will not be taken for
persons who are not citizens of Canada or Mexico wishing to apply for visas
in Canada or Mexico.

        2) Appointments made before 11/16/01 will be honored.

Even if you have an appointment, complications may still arise for those
persons mentioned in the previous memo who now require a 20-day waiting
period and special security clearance prior to issuance of a non-immigrant
visa.

If you have a visa appointment set already, please come by the International
Office to discuss your particular case.
