1.      The next PDS presentation has been rescheduled from September 22 to
September 29.  The presenter will be Kristi Chavarria, Director of Marketing
for FSB/Texas, a large architecture/engineering/construction firm.  She will
be talking about services marketing and what students (and others) need to
do to prepare themselves for work in that arena, including what skills they
need to have to be effective in services marketing.  Kristi holds two BA
degrees from UTA, one in Fine Arts and one in Communications.

2. The next Friday Speaker Forum is this Friday, September 22, at 5:30 in
room 609.  The speaker is Jerry Thomas, President of Decision Analyst and of
the MSMR Advisory Board.  The title of Jerry presentation is "Internet
Research:  Promises, Perils, and Pitfalls."  Jerry will present an overview
of how to conduct research on the Internet.  It includes sections on
validity threats, and the types of research best adapted to the Internet.
All are welcome to both events. Faculty, please let your students know about
