Hello All,

The North Texas Writing Center Association invites peer and professional tutors, center directors and managers, writing faculty, and other writing center stakeholders to share their experience at the NTWCA Spring Conference. Please join us on April 21st!

Call for Proposals:
Please also consider sharing your knowledge and experience with other writing center professionals from the region! Presentations and panel discussions will be 45 minutes in length, and poster presentations are also gladly accepted. Both group or solo presentations and posters are welcome. 

If you are interested in presenting or organizing a panel discussion, please send a description (150 words) and any questions to April Trafton ([log in to unmask]).
Proposal deadline: Friday, March 24th 

We want to know what you’re up to! Please send accolades and updates about new programs, initiatives, projects, etc. to be published in the spring newsletter. Information can be sent to April Trafton ([log in to unmask]).  

Mary Nell Kivikko Excellence in Scholarship Award

The award is open to all writing center professional staff, graduate tutors, and under-graduate peer tutors in the South Central Writing Centers Association region (Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Louisiana). Applicants must be currents members of the NTWCA. Proposals should focus on the subject area of writing center theory and practice. The 250-word abstract of the entry should include a title, and the name and contact information of the presenter. Please submit entries to the current NTWCA President. Electronic submissions only, please. 

Outstanding Tutor Award 
The award is open to part-time or full-time consultants, as well as graduate or under-graduate peer tutors at a writing center in the SCWCA region. Nominees must be current members of the NTWCA. Writing center directors must nominate a consultant who is an employee in his/her writing center. Nominations should include the name, institution, address, telephone, and email address of the consultant and/or tutor as well as a letter explaining why the individual should be considered for the award, including information regarding tutoring abilities and contributions to the center.
