The Annual Political Theory Conference - sponsored by the Political
Science
Dept at Texas A&M University - will be held February 23-24, 2007. The
conference this year, "Immigration and National Identity: Lessons
From/For
Political Theory," features several key figures from fields including
political theory, economics, sociology, anthropology, history, public
policy, and philosophy. The organizer of the 2007 Conference is
Professor
Diego von Vacano. According to Professor von Vacano, the aim of this
two-day
conference is to discuss the normative dimensions of the contemporary
immigration debate. While the emphasis of the meeting is a
normative/political one, some empirical/multidisciplinary perspectives -
from fields such as Sociology and History - will also receive attention.
Below you will find a link to the conference website with a complete
conference schedule. Although there is no registration fee, registration
is
required. If you have any questions or would like to register, you may
do so
by e-mailing Christie Maloyed at [log in to unmask] We look
forward to seeing you.

The 2007 Annual Political Theory Conference is sponsored by The College
of
Liberal Arts, The Department of Political Science, The Melbern G.
Glasscock
Center for Humanities Research, The Carlos H. Cantu Hispanic Education
and
Opportunity Endowment, and the Departments of Sociology, Philosophy,
History, and Anthropology at Texas A&M University.
