The Annual Celebration of Excellence by Students (ACES) is a university-wide, day-long event that showcases the best of student research and creative activity. Students work with faculty mentors in their disciplines to submit their abstracts, and those whose abstracts are accepted for inclusion in ACES present their work to university audiences in a formal oral presentation or a professional-grade poster. ACES presents an excellent opportunity for students to participate in a symposium in which an interdisciplinary panel of judges will evaluate each student’s work.  To recognize outstanding achievement, cash awards ranging between $50-300 will be made in various categories to undergraduates as well as graduate students. Those who win a prize at ACES are recognized at the annual President's Celebration of Academic Excellence.  

Please note that the deadline for a student to submit an abstract is earlier than in past years: February 16.  This deadline has been established to accommodate the increasing number of submissions each year, so that sufficient time can be allotted to evaluate submissions for acceptance into ACES.  I hope that all faculty members will encourage their students to consider submitting an abstract.  The ACES event will occur on Friday March 30th at the University Center.
