The Sociology Student Association of UTA (SSA) is pleased to announce 
its first annual */Blanket Drive for the Homeless of Arlington/*. Our 
mission is to collect donations of new and gently used blankets from our 
UTA family of faculty, staff and students in order to give them to our 
homeless neighbors here in Arlington.

Beginning Thursday October 29, 2009 the SSA will be accepting donated 
blankets at the Sociology and Anthropology Office, in room 425 of 
University Hall. The SSA will be accepting the blankets through November 
20, 2009. After collecting the blankets, members of the SSA will be 
personally distributing them to our homeless neighbors here in 
Arlington, with the help of Mission Arlington and its affiliates.

We will be giving the collected blankets to our neighbors on November 23 
and 24, 2009 just before the bitter cold weather is here for the entire 
season and before we break for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Sociology Student Association of UTA will be expanding awareness 
with signs in the classrooms of University Hall and the Business 
Building. Those of you who hold classes in these buildings may be 
approached by a member of SSA, to request permission to make a very 
brief announcement in your classroom in an effort to raise awareness for 
the Blanket Drive.

neighbors here in Arlington, we thank you in advance for your time and 
blankets!
