Wetsel Building Room 200                 Suggested Audience: All UTA Employees   An IRS representative will explain the multiple changes for the 2001 tax year, cover the different sections of the standard tax form, provide tax information publications and answer your tax questions. (The instructor will not be providing tax preparation services during class). This class will empower you to make better and maybe more cost-effective tax form decisions. Reps., &                             Human Resources   The new structure of Orientation will include 3 of the Staff Development 10 Essentials: UTA Orientation (8 am-10 am), Customer Service (10 am-noon) and Institutional Compliance (1:00 pm-1:30 pm). A Benefits Q&A session (1:30 pm-3:30 pm) will follow. New employees are required to come for the full day. Current employees may attend any of the sections they need to fulfill their 10 Essentials. Wetsel Building Room 200                 Suggested Audience: All UTA Employees   A basic introduction to various communication techniques and skills necessary for building professional, social and intimate relationships--the number one problem identified in work relationships. Join us as a licensed counselor from our EAP program presents techniques to improve your ability to interact assertively by exploring the various aspects of communication. For more information or to registrar, contact SDEA at 817-272-7292.     February 12th: HR: Disciplinary Procedures/Coaching & Motivating                 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.                 J. D. Wetsel Building Room 200                 Suggested Audience: All UTA Supervisors                 Presenters: James C. Clingan, President of JC3T This workshop focuses on teaching supervisors the skills necessary to counsel employees with the goal of improving performance and productivity. Each participant will become familiar with a job analysis tool to aid in assessing all factors in poor employee performance or productivity; learn how to use appropriate documentation in the Performance Improvement conference; learn the attitudes and skills necessary to communicate problems that need to be solved; avoid common traps; elicit agreement and a plan; and follow-up and evaluate progress toward stated goals. The second half of the workshop explains the correct procedures involved when disciplining or discharging an employee and outlines important aspects pertaining to counseling employees for Performance Improvement and Disciplinary Action. The nuances of policies and procedures as based on UTA's rules and regulations help create a better understanding of the disciplinary process, as well as employee's right to an appeal and the appeal process. Wetsel Room 200                 Suggested Audience: All UTA Employees This brief overview of course materials to be taught on 02/22/02 for the CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)/AED (Automated External Defibrillator) Heartsaver course, gives the basic techniques of adult CPR, using an AED, how to use barrier devices in CPR, giving first aid for choking and how to recognize the signs of four major emergencies: heart attack, stroke, cardiac arrest and foreign body airway obstruction.     February 14th: Microsoft Word 2000, Level 1                 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. (day 2 of 2)                 J.
