Tax Information Available
The International Office has received tax forms to be used
by international students and scholars to prepare their 2002 Federal Tax
Returns - Form 8843, and Forms and Instructions for Form 1040NR-EZ. We
have also prepared a handout which will help you complete the forms. Other
forms and instruction books can be obtained through the IRS website at http://www.irs.gov.
There will be no tax workshop this year. However, UTA has
purchased 500 user IDs for NRAware, a tax preparation
software program for forms 8843, 1040NR-EZ, and 1040NR. If you are interested
in using this software, please come to the International Office for your unique
ID number. Before you receive your unique access code and instructions for the NRAware web site, the International Office will check to
see whether you are enrolled at UTA. You will also be asked to sign a waiver
indicating that you understand the following:
·
The use of the web site is entirely voluntary and
optional. You may use other tax programs or complete and mail the appropriate
paper tax forms. NRAware does not submit the
completed forms - once complete, you will need to print the forms and
mail to IRS yourself.
·
UTA is providing the program as a service to international
students and scholars, but does not assume any responsibility for the accuracy
of the information provided by NRAware nor for the
technical support of the website
