JS-DEFDRIV - Defensive Driving Training Location: Environmental Health & Safety Building, 500 Summit Avenue, Room Training Room Dates: Wednesday, Dec 3, 2003 - Thursday, Dec 4, 2003 Times: 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Class Days: Wednesday, Thursday Instructed by: Bonnie Martin A prospective driver must complete a 6-hour DDC and secure a Driving Record Background Check (Request for Information from Texas Driver Records) with a satisfactory rating prior to operating UTA leased, owned, or rental vehicles. Individuals not completing the above-mentioned requirements will not be added to the Authorized Drivers List.
Individuals that have taken DDC within the past three years can be exempt from taking the UTA DDC with a copy of the DDC certificate. DDC will be offered at no cost to staff, faculty, and students; however, to obtain a certificate for a 10% discount on auto insurance, a $5.00 fee will be required (note: not all insurance companies offer a 10% discount; check with your agent if you are interested in the discount). The UTA 6-hour DDC cannot be used for ticket dismissal. Enrollment Closing Date: Wednesday, Dec 3, 2003

Just when we think we have settled into a routine in our work or home life something changes. In the business world "Fast change is arriving. Slow change is moving out." The adaptation and adjustment to change must come quickly and often. This creates stress--physically, emotionally, intellectually, spiritually.
This course is designed to help participants adjust to change--especially in the workplace setting. Participants will learn:
--Strategies for managing the physical and emotional stress created by changes at work.
--Strategies for adjusting to new work expectations, routines, and personnel.

FE-RADCLAS - R.A.D. - Rape Aggression Defense Location: J.D. Wetsel Building, Room 200 Dates: Thursday, Dec 18, 2003 - Friday, Dec 19, 2003 Times: 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM Class Days: Thursday, Friday Instructed by: John Morrison (This is a two-day class) The Rape Aggression Defense System is a program of realistic self-defense tactics and techniques developed for women. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction, and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on self-defense training. The program is designed to help women overcome the effects of sexual violence by teaching assertiveness, awareness, risk reduction, avoidance, and physical defense options and strategies. The course is taught by John Morrison, Crime Prevention Officer of the UTA Police Department. Enrollment Closing Date: Thursday, Dec 18, 2003
