Microsoft Word I

There is more to creating and manipulating a letter or report in Word  
than just typing and printing. You can develop a pretty amazing  
document if you have the right knowledge.

If you are new to word processing and Microsoft computer programs  
this is a great place to start.

Maverick 101: New Employee Orientation

If you are new to UT Arlington or if you are an existing employee  
looking to reconnect with the pulse of the University, then I’ve got  
the class for you.

What: Maverick 101: New Employee Orientation
When: Wednesday September 5th, 8:00 a.m.-12:15 p.m.
Where: Wetsel Service Center Room 200
Who: Shawn DuMond and a host of key UT Arlington department leaders

Come learn about the exciting happenings here at UT Arlington and  
hear from key departments that want to make your work and life easier  
and more fulfilling.

Microsoft Word II

Take your word processing documents to the next level. Participants  
will learn about Word templates; how to work with graphics by  
inserting and modifying pictures; how to insert watermarks and Word  
Art; and how to work with tables and columns.

Additional training will be provided on basic techniques for managing  
a large document: inserting page numbers, inserting headers/footers,  
and creating a table of contents.

Take the first step in helping your next accounting, finance,  
inventory, or statistical report look professional and communicate  
all the right messages. The course will teach the basics of Microsoft  
Excel.

When: Tuesday September 18th, 2:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m.
Where: Continuing Education/Workforce Development Center: E200C

Participants will learn how to use the Excel menu system and  
toolbars, enter simple formulas, develop a worksheet, insert and  
adjust rows/columns, and add borders and shading to a worksheet.
