SPOTLIGHT:
Welcoming Diversity
“Institutional change, group transformation, and individual
empowerment.”
The “Welcoming Diversity” workshop is based on the
prejudice reduction model of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI)
established in 1994. NCBI is a non-profit leadership training organization
based in Washington, D.C. with chapters in 40 cities across the United States
and abroad.
The “Welcoming Diversity” workshop is an experiential,
interactive program designed to promote awareness and increase sensitivity to
the many differences among individuals and groups in our society. Done in an
upbeat, hopeful tone, the program focuses on developing self-pride, examining
stereotypes, and learning skills in responding to prejudicial jokes, remarks,
slurs.
Facilitated by trained NCBI leaders, these workshops are perfect for work teams, student
groups, teaching teams and any organization or groups seeking to work smarter
and live better.
