Please do not reply to this email. Dear international students, The Summer 2016 semester is quickly approaching. Our office would like to remind you that if you were enrolled in the health insurance plan provided by the university for the spring 2016 semester, your coverage will be valid until August 14th, 2016. You will not be charged again for summer insurance. If summer 2016 is your first semester, you will be enrolled in the university's health insurance plan, which will cover you from May 15th, 2016 until August 14th, 2016. The cost of $548 will be added to your mymav account once you register for summer courses. If you have an alternate health insurance plan that meets the eligibility criteria listed below, you may request an insurance waiver online through AHP's website beginning May 1st. The deadline to submit a waiver is June 23rd, 2016. Criteria to submit a waiver request, must meet one of the following: 1. Sponsored Plan (US Government, Foreign Government, Embassy) * Must guarantee payment of all health care expenses in writing * Must be ACA compliant 1. UT Employee Group Health Plan (must be ACA compliant) 2. US Employer Plan (must be ACA compliant) 3. US Individual Plan (must be ACA compliant) 4. Enrolled exclusively in distance learning programs If you meet one of the above criteria, then your alternate health insurance coverage must meet the following minimum requirements: 1. The mandatory coverage period of: May 15th, 2016 through August 14th, 2016. 2. Unlimited maximum on benefits 3. No Pre-existing condition limitation 4. $500 or less deductible per condition 5.
