As a major funder of the Levitt Pavilion in Arlington, we are committed to better understanding the audiences served by the programs we support. This summer, the Foundation is conducting an on-site survey of Levitt Pavilion concert audiences and is therefore seeking local freelance field researchers and a field research coordinator (job announcements attached). We would greatly appreciate if you can share this opportunity with undergraduate or graduate school students, who have a background in the social sciences and/or experience with on-site survey collection, in the Arlington area. Surveys will be conducted before and during the first half of the concerts when fielders will be intercepting audience members and asking them to fill out a paper survey. A local coordinator will oversee scheduling and other administrative aspects of the survey collection, but can also be hired as a field researcher. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to gain some research experience (while listening to some great live music!). Fielders will need to be available to work periodic evening shifts throughout June and July; concerts typically occur Thursdays through Sundays. A total of 600 completed surveys will be collected over 12 to 15 different concerts; averaging 50 to 60 surveys per concert, split among 4 field researchers. A schedule of selected concerts, as well as back up dates to accommodate inclement weather, will be provided by mid-May. These positions will be paid for their time, so please encourage qualified individuals who are available during this timeframe and are interested in fieldwork to apply.
