Good Morning Ladies,
There is a lot of conflicting information being given to students. If a student contacts you needing advising information, whether it be via email or phone, make sure your response is "you will need to email [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>" Here's what is happening. Students are email the math advisor and Libby is responding, if they do not like the answer they are then calling the front office or email the staff and receiving a different answer. The student below is not a math major therefore they should have been advised to contact their advisor for assistance or recommendation. Make sure you ask the student what their major is and what they need, therefore you are more equipped to give the appropriate response. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you

Seyed,

MPT is not a waiver test, but a placement test. You can choose to take a CLEP test in order gain exemption. Also, You would need to contact the Mathematics Academic Advisor to see what class you would need to take ( I have CCed her in this email).

Sincerely,
Jamie Thurston

Good Morning Seyed,

I would need your ID number in order to look up your MPT Scores.

The MPT uses the scores to place you into 1303, 1324, 1325, 1421, and 1426. The only prerequisite for 1302 is TSI Compliance which can be obtained by successfully passing 0311 or 0312 or obtaining an appropriate score on the state TSI placement exam. As for 1316, you would need to contact your Academic Advisor to see if it is a class you need to take. In regards to 1302 online, you would also speak with your Academic Advisor. They then may refer you to the Mathematics Academic Advisor, Libby Carroll ([log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>)

Thanks,

Jamie Thurston

Dear Sir/Madame,

I would like to enquire if my MPT score waives the requirement to MATH 1302 as I am business student and also do I have to take 1316 or does my score also waive that? Additionally, I would like to ask permission to take the 1302 class online if I have to take it.

Warm Regards

Seyed
