Subject: New Leadership Texas and other items

Hi, all:

Please share the following with any potential students…

1)NEW Leadership Texas residential program held in Austin, TX from May 31-June 5, 2018.

Deadline April 15, 2018

Applications are now available at https://liberalarts.utexas.edu/cwgs/special/NEW-Leadership-Texas/ApplyingtoNLT.php.

What is NEW Leadership Texas?

NEW Leadership™ Texas is a six-day non-partisan intensive residential program that educates college women about politics and policy-making and inspires them to get involved in the political process. NEW Leadership™ Texas brings together college women from across the political spectrum to discuss the roles of women in leadership and politics. The program exposes participants to new ideas and opportunities as they consider their future careers.

Who is eligible to apply?

Undergraduate women enrolled in any Texas college or university for 2017-2018, or are graduating in May 2018. Participants are undergraduate women representing a wide range of socioeconomic, ethnic, racial and educational backgrounds and academic majors. We encourage applications from non-traditional college students, women of color, and students majoring in fields outside political science.

What is the cost to attend?

NEW Leadership™ Texas is free to attend. Housing, food, and all program materials are provided for the full six days of the program. Each participating college and university will be asked by the student to contribute a $500 program fee to help offset programming costs. NEW Leadership Texas will invoice your school once you have been accepted.
