German Campus Week
To commemorate the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, students at the German program at the Department of Modern Languages are organizing Campus Week featuring the Berlin Wall. The event starts with a film documentary of the Berlin Wall and its fall sponsored by the German Embassy.
The highlight of the Berlin Wall project is the exhibit of a replica of the wall that will be shown at five different locations on campus between November 4-8. Students will serve as docents and explain the historic significance of the wall and its aftermath. Some of the students will also impersonate East German border guards guarding a mini Checkpoint Charley.
A special celebration is planned for the closing of the exhibit on
November 8th.
