It can be challenging for international students to find employment, especially during these times. The truth is, most U.S. citizens have also experienced spending months submitting job applications and interviewing for positions until they finally found employment. Job searches can be tough, but the important thing is to never stop believing in yourself and always keep going.

Learn to differentiate between what you can’t control, and what you can. Then, focus all your efforts on the latter and be kind to yourself. You can’t control who you are competing against, regulations that limit your opportunities, or the effects of a global pandemic. However, you can control whether you are submitting excellent applications every time, how well you interview and present yourself, how large your network is, and if you’re approaching your job search as strategically as possible.
