I was just speaking with a student set to graduate this semester. We discussed the graduation ceremonies and our collective nervousness about attending the event in person, and neither of us was ready to commit to attending. That was when I thought about the other students who have not had a chance to walk in the past year. I'm sorry that you guys have had to pay that price at this time, but I have an idea of how we might be able to have a celebration worthy of our tribe.

I had hoped to schedule this event in October. Unfortunately, I don't know that we are going to be able to pull it off yet. I don't want this to turn into a political debate, but I know that there are a number of people who aren't ready to gather again (for many reasons). The idea was to have a celebration reunion, but some - including me - aren't quite ready to celebrate. I would rather not hold an event that some would not be able/willing to attend.
I am a little late in getting some of these out. My apologies, but there are some good opportunities in here:

Here are some position opportunities that came across my desk in the past week. Please review and let me know if you have any questions or if I can be of assistance.
* One would be based out of an office near LA and requires quite a bit of experience so might be less ideal for the group. No, I am not emailing to share our company policy regarding COVID-19. I think that we've had enough of that.
I am emailing to let you know that I am here for any/all of you if you need anything. This situation is affecting all of us, though undoubtedly in different ways. So, I don't promise any advice on how to handle your specific situation. But, I do promise that my door (well, my inbox and phone) are open if you have a need.

1. SageSpring Partners - Research Associate I (Remote) * Remote-based opportunity with some onboarding to take place in Austin. * Seeking impending or recent graduates (up to 3 years out, I would think) * They cannot support a visa application at this time. * See attached description for details and application instructions. 2. There are a few volunteer opportunities coming up. We need as many volunteers as we can get to help our students in the following ways:

Students tend to have light resumes, they tend to focus on tasks they've done, and they struggle to translate those tasks into skills that would fit new opportunities. Could you help a student improve his/her communication of skills and value? Could you do it for more than one? If so, we could use your help. *

As promised, we will meet on Monday evening to do the Fall Kickoff. I know 6:00 might be tough for some people, but please do your best. We will start on the intros and topics by 6:15 so that we can stay on time for the follow-up event.
Current Students: Please accept or decline the event so I have a head count. I would really like everyone to be at this event so that everyone has a chance to meet the incoming students and to share their summer internship adventures (horror stories?).
I have received a few job and GRA listings over the past few weeks, so I'm emailing all of them out for you to review and apply (if you believe you are a fit).
Let me say that I have included all relevant information in my possession in this email. I have contact info for each position and all of the details provided by the person who shared it. So, there is no need for you to contact me to ask for additional information or for assistance in landing the position. I am merely passing along information that
As you may recall, we began an educational partnership with the Insights Association about 18 months ago. In that time IA has hosted two students at each of the past two SW Chapter events in Las Vegas and scheduled a round-table between MSMR/MMR program directors at the Leadership Conference last fall. The IA directors continue to look for opportunities to connect the Marketing Research programs with industry professionals. I'm looking for local alumni who would be interested in helping the students prepare for their poster presentations at the conference. We have reserved a room for Friday evening from 6:30 - 8:00. Students will have their posters/presentations available and will be working on their "research speak". We'll head over to a local pub option for social hour after. So, if you are interested in helping and socializing, please email me.
Honestly, it's easier for me to manage the response inquiries if I send these things separately.
I received the attached opportunities from MDRG. As far as I know, we have no direct connections with the company other than that they initiated the conversation with these listings this week.
Obviously I've been sitting on a lot of these, right....? Actually, that's not true. I received all of these this week. I guess my Vegas invitation triggered a hiring push. Yep, I'm behind the economic upturn!
Take a look at this one and apply if you think you are THIS "right person".

I am a little late getting this out because I was down with the flu last week, but I think we're still far enough ahead for you to make plans for these events.
* MAR 30: Student Research Poster Session * Location: College of Business, Room 609 * 6:30 - 8:00 PM * Current MSMR students have been strongly encouraged to submit posters summarizing a project that they have completed as part of their internships, independent studies, and/or class projects. We are seeking volunteers to serve on the review committee to select 10-12 posters to be featured in
I have had some volunteers for the poster activities who have asked questions about how it would work. I also had one volunteer point out that my schedule involved a prep session on Good Friday. That simply won't work, so I am adjusting the schedule and sharing it for those who would like to help with the posters:

I'm going to break every rule about marketing research and ask you to take 30 seconds to go to the TFE Times Marketing program rankings page and give us a 5-star rating. Here is the page: https://tfetimes.com/best-marketing-program-rankings/?
Just scroll down to UTA (#38) and click on the rating scale to give us 5 stars (if you're comfortable doing so). This is not scientific or trustworthy, but it is something that prospective students are using and other programs are touting. So, anything we can do to boost our apparent ranking will help drive interest.
I just heard from Stacy's father. He said that "the youth ministry at New Life Fellowship was Stacy's beloved passion" and that it would "be a perfect ministry to memorialize Stacy".
You should also know that one of the current students has begun the process of setting up a memorial scholarship fund in Stacy's name. It is very early in the process, so I can't provide direction right now.

While most of the students in the western hemisphere were either studying for finals or celebrating the end of the spring semester (or both) this past weekend, our MSMR students were representing UT Arlington in an analytics competition.
One last thing: Here is the UTD program director's blog about the event: https://utdmarketing.wordpress.com/
It appears that only 22 of the 30 invited teams made it to the competition. But, the note about the purpose of the contest (discovering insights) is a great extension on my note about the reporting.

In your company is the internal marketing research function viewed as relevant - or is it indispensable? And, how does your department compare to that of your peers? To help us find the answers to these questions, we need you to participate in the only survey designed with the singular purpose of providing you insight into your peers and their perceptions of the marketing research function. The corporate researcher survey is just 20 questions. But while we've kept it short, our hope is that it will be long on generating interesting insights. The findings will be compiled into an article

I'm a graduate from the class of 99 and need a little help on a project for a client of mine. My agency is currently more focused on marketing than on research and I have a critical project that needs a talented researcher.
The project is a conjoint analysis to determine pricing and bundling options plus four focus groups in two cities. The budget is impossibly small. The turnaround time is impossibly quick. The client is a great brand selling a service that most of us use on a regular basis.
Here are two employment opportunities submitted by your fellow alumnus, Robin Alex. His contact information is below. Thanks, Robin, for thinking of your fellow UT Arlington alums.

The topic of having a MSMR mentorship program (involving Alums) came up at the most recent Advisory Board meeting. As many of you may very well know, the alums bring a unique perspective, i.e., we've all been students of the MSMR program and know what it takes to successfully complete the program, develop networking skills, find client/supplier side interships/jobs, prepare for interviews on both sides, decide between client side and supplier side internships/jobs, advance your MR career, and the list goes on.
The department is looking for a few good instructors to teach Marketing 3321, Principles of Marketing, in the Spring 2009 semester. The basic requirements are:
1. A Master's degree (MSMR or MBA with marketing concentration) from an AACSB (Association for the Advancement of Collegiate Schools of Business) accredited university like UT Arlington. The candidate must be able to produce an official transcript which reflects the successful completion of 6 courses (18 semester credit hours) specifically in marketing.
Good morning. In the unending quest to make things better, we are looking for input from MSMR alumni who attended the Advisory Board Meeting last week.
I would like to know if you received value from the following events:
CASRO Presentation
Cocktail event and Dinner
I would also like to know if you believe a mentoring program involving the alums would contribute to making the program better.

In our never-ending quest to encourage local retailers to carry cool UT Arlington merchandise, inroads have been made at the Academy store located near the Parks Mall. Due to the efforts of faithful alumnus Scott Sexton, president of the UTA Varsity Club (athletes' alumni chapter), the manager of the store has been convinced to bring in limited quantities of four different designs (see attached) to see how they sell. Based on sales, she'll either bring in more.... Or she won't. SO......

As many of you may have heard at the advisory board meeting this week, the department is designing a new brochure for recruiting and publicity for the Master of Science in Marketing Research program. I'm looking for a versatile piece of software to code extensive amounts of qualitative data. Basically, what I'm looking to do is be able to go through reams of notes and code specific blocks of text according to a predefined coding frame, and then export the codes to SPSS to analyze them quantitatively (once matched to other variables).
Our company (Maritz) adopted a tool called ClearVoice by Clear Forest. I haven't used it myself, but others in the company did. Also, one of our major clients is using Intelliseek. I assume you can find info about these on the internet.
