HUB PROCUREMENT SPOT BID FAIR - MAY 14 - 15, 2024

The 2023 "Doing Business Texas Style" Spot Bid Fair, sponsored by State Senator Royce West, will be held May 14 -15, 2024, in Irving, TX. The Spot Bid Fair provides procurement opportunities for Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUBs) to connect with major Texas corporations and government agencies. The UTA HUB Program<https://www.uta.edu/business-affairs/suppliers> partake in the spot bid fair and would like to invite your department to participate. Attached is Senator West's Invitation.

UT System Chancellor James Milliken and Executive Vice Chancellor for Business Affairs Jonathan Pruitt strongly encourage our participation in the event. The Spot Bid Fair provides an excellent opportunity for UTA to demonstrate our commitment to the State's goals for HUB participation by increasing purchases and contract awards to HUBs. Attached is the Chancellor's Letter.

DIR will consider one-time exemptions from using DIR's Cooperative Contracts for purchases up to $50,000. Exemption requests are not required for purchases under $10,000. Agencies should follow the standard IT Commodity procurement process for purchases over $50,000. one-time exemption request form available on the DIR website.

Note on the description: The exemption is based on a best value determination, which includes delivery time via Doing Business Texas Style - Spot Bid Fair. This letter shall not waive any state or federal law or rules, or agency policy for IT commodity purchases.

If interested, please consider your departmental requirements that can be awarded during the Spot Bid Fair - especially Pro-Card purchases. The following examples are items previously advertised at Spot Bid Fairs:

*        Office supply products

*        Lab supplies

*        Computer peripherals

* Promotional items - t-shirts, caps, pencils, etc.

*        Industrial supplies and equipment

Please send your procurement information to Rylan Yellman<mailto:[log in to unmask]> by 12:00 pm, May 10, 2024.

Every purchase awarded to a HUB increases our efforts to achieve the University's goals and develop mutually beneficial business relationships with the community we serve.
