I am excited to tell you about our upcoming alumni/student mentorship program, MavMentors - a collaboration between UTA Alumni Relations and the UTA Lockheed Martin Career Development Center. This new program will give our students the opportunity to network with alumni who are excited to mentor current students.
UTA Alumni Relations has already contacted alumni and many of them have signed into CampusTap<uta.thecampustap.com>, the system we are using to match students with their potential mentors. Once a student completes a profile, they will be able to search for mentors based upon their preferences. If you’re a UTA alum, we encourage you to try this system<uta.thecampustap.com> by going to uta.thecampustap.com and making your own profile.
Next week, all students will be receiving an email notification of how to sign up for this program through HireAMav<uta.joinhandshake.com> powered by Handshake. Since you have close contact with our students we wanted to share with you how this process works.
How your students can join:
Step One: Students will need to Log in to HireAMav<uta.joinhandshake.com> powered by Handshake at uta.joinhandshake.com.
Step Two: Go to the ‘Resources’ tab.
Step Three: Click ‘MavMentors’
Step Four: Log in and make a profile on CampusTap<uta.thecampustap.com>
Step Five: Search and find a mentor.
How can you help?
* If you have not done so already, please join HireAMav<uta.joinhandshake.com>, powered by Handshake at uta.joinhandshake.com.
* If you’re an alum, join CampusTap, the platform we are using for MavMentors, at uta.thecampustap.com.
* Share with students this great opportunity to be mentored by a professional in the field. This opportunity is for both our on-campus students and our online students!
What happens next?
The UTA Lockheed Martin Career Development Center will be hosting optional events for mentor/mentee pairs to attend beginning in January 2018. These will be advertised in advance through HireAMav<uta.joinhandshake.com> and CampusTap<uta.thecampustap.com>.
