Are you looking to develop transferable skills? Facilitation, organization, communication Are you interested in being a part of social change and making a difference on campus? Do you want a valuable leadership experience?

RVSP Peer Educators:
Support the primary prevention of sexual and interpersonal violence, addressing campus climate and social norms
through EDUCATION
Promote SERVICES and resources available to the university
ADVOCATE for survivors of sexual and interpersonal violence through awareness and education

Primary Responsibilities:

1.   Educate: Facilitate workshops for various student groups, residence halls, fraternities and sororities, etc.
*             Bringing in the Bystander** (primary curriculum)
*            Healthy Relationships
*             Consent is Sexy
*             Social Norms: A close look at media's portrayal of gender issues
*             Chilly Campus, Safe Campus? - living in a sexist and homophobic environment
*             Red Flags in Dating Relationships
*             Sexy vs. Unsexy
2.   Program: Implement and support Campus Wide Initiatives that raise awareness of sexual assault and relationship violence and promote a safe and inclusive campus: (Clothesline Project, Red Flag Campaign, Take Back the Night, The Vagina Monologues)

Minimum Time Commitment:

*         2 hours min in office (flexible)

*         2 monthly meetings with RVSP Peer Team

*         3 monthly programs/presentations/events

*         Be the lead on one project/event


Mandatory Training in:
BACCHUS Peer Educator Certification Bringing in the Bystander Curriculum Safe Zone Ally Training
Secondary violence prevention: knowledge of university resources, sexual assault and relationship violence
services

Qualifications:
*Interest in gender issues, creating a safe and inclusive environment, and social justice; focused, and self- motivated; committed to violence prevention.
*min. 2.5 GPA
*Uphold the mission of RVSP, promoting a safe and inclusive campus and university services and resources
*Looking for both male and female peer educators

* Semester stipend included
