Dear Colleagues,

Hope the beginning of the semester is off to a strong start. I'm excited to share this semester's Colloquium schedule. Please mark your calendars.

* Dan Levine - UTA Psychology - 9/23 at Noon in UH 432

* Dustin Harp - UTA Communications - 10/28 at Noon in UH 432

* "Digital Culture: Promises, Progress and Power" a Roundtable - 11/20 at 6pm (location TBA)

* Ken Williford - UTA Philosophy - 12/4 at Noon in UH 432

Please note the inclusion of "Digital Culture: Promises, Progress and Power." This will mark the publication of The Dialectic of Digital Culture. I will be asking questions about digital culture to contributors Tim Morris (English), Amy Speier (Anthropology), and Jennifer Miller (English - Co-editor of the book). We're aiming to make this a big event as part of the Data Driven Society strategic initiative.

I've also included the flyer for our first Colloquium this year. Dr. Dan Levine will present "Healing the Reason-Emotion Split: Scarecrows, Tin Woodmen, and the Wizard" at Noon on Sep. 23 in UH 432.

Please let me know if you have any questions or ideas for the Center for Theory.

Best wishes,
David
