Subject: Dr. Robert Bing Colloquium - 12/4 at 12pm

Colleagues,

Join us for the second colloquium<https://websites.uta.edu/centerfortheory/2023/11/08/dr-robert-bing-colloquium> of Fall 2023 on Dec. 4 at 12pm. Dr. Robert Bing<https://www.uta.edu/academics/faculty/profile?username=rbing>, professor of Criminology and Criminal Justice at UTA, will present a talk about his book Race, Crime, and Justice<https://he.kendallhunt.com/product/race-crime-and-justice-0>. The book recognizes the influence of politics on America's justice system; it also explores flawed policies and practices that contribute to the disparate treatment of minority group members. Dr. Bing will discuss the social construction of crime and demonization of people of color through the criminal justice system.
Please circulate the flyer.

Best,
David
