effectively in writing is a key to your workplace success.

In this course, you will learn basic and next level skills that will
improve your writing skills and help you on the road to achieving the
greatest level of effectiveness in your writing.

Say What You Mean, Mean What You Say: Essential Communication Skills (8)
Do you struggle to find the right words in a conversation? Do you find
yourself not being able to get your point across? Now is your
opportunity to learn the skills that can empower you to speak clearly
and effectively.
What: Essential Communication Skills
When: Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009, 9:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m.
Where: Wetsel Service Center, Room 200

Participants will learn about communication styles, assertiveness, non-
verbal communication, and additional keys to communication that will
educate and empower.

Welcoming Diversity (8)
This workshop is an experiential, interactive program designed to
promote awareness and increased sensitivity to the many similarities
and differences among individuals and groups in our society. Done in
an upbeat, hopeful tone, the program focuses on developing self-pride,
examining stereotypes, and learning skills in responding to
prejudicial jokes, remarks, and slurs. Participants will also discover
how to be more attentive to diversity and racism in the workplace and
community.
What: Welcoming Diversity
When: Thursday, July 23rd, 2009, 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Where: Rady Room, 6th floor Nederman Hall

Lunch will be provided. Please dress in comfortable/casual attire.
