Essentials of Assertiveness (AP)

Learn powerful tools for assertiveness to help you deal with conflict  
at all levels in the organization and discover techniques on how to be  
an assertive communicator.

What: Essentials of Assertiveness

You will also explore the differences between being passive,  
aggressive and assertive. In addition, you will assess your areas of  
strength and growth in this critical skill.

RetireWise-Module 4: Making the Most of What You Have

You will review your employer’s specific retiree benefits and other  
benefits to help you understand how they fit in your own planning  
process. You will also be given resources to help you consider how to  
have a satisfying and meaningful retirement. Topics include Wills,  
Living Trusts, Health Care Proxies and Estate Planning.

What: RetireWise Module 4
When: Wednesday, November 12th, 2008, 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Where: Wetsel Service Center, room 200
Who: MetLife Retirement Specialists

This class is part four of the four-session series offered during the  
month of June by the Office of Human Resources: Benefits and MetLife.

AHA HeartSavers: First Aid with CPR and AED

Would you know what to do if someone around you was having a heart  
attack?

What: AHA HeartSavers: First Aid with CPR and AED
When: Wednesday, November 13th, 2008, 9:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m.
Where: Environmental Health & Safety Building, 500 Summit Ave.
Who: Environmental Health and Safety Trainers

The skills you learn here could save a life. Participants will receive  
CPR certification card.

Welcoming Diversity (8)

This workshop is an experiential, interactive program designed to  
promote awareness and increased sensitivity to the many similarities  
and differences among individuals and groups in our society.  Done in  
an upbeat, hopeful tone, the program focuses on developing self-pride,  
examining stereotypes, and learning skills in responding to  
prejudicial jokes, remarks, and slurs. Participants will also discover  
how to be more attentive to diversity and racism in the workplace and  
community.

What: Welcoming Diversity
When: Thursday, November 13th, 2008, 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Where: Rady Room, 6th floor Nedderman Hall

Lunch will be provided. Please dress in comfortable/casual attire.
