ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) in the Workplace (T)

The 1992 American with Disabilities Act has greatly impacted the workplace and the workforce. Successful organizations today have made a commitment to hire individuals with disabilities. Co-workers and managers are often not equipped with the necessary skills to fully integrate these employees into their workforce.

What: ADA in the Workplace

When: Tuesday, July 6th, 2010, 2:00 p.m.- 4:00 p.m.

Where: Wetsel Service Center, Room 200

Who: Dr. Diane Hengst, Assistant Dean, UT Arlington Office of Students with Disabilities

This workshop introduces proven principles and common sense ideas on how to best support and work with disabled individuals.

Attitude: It Colors Everything  (AP)

With so many situations and circumstances out of control in and around us, it is comforting to know that there is one thing we can control…our attitude. Maintaining a positive attitude in the face of difficulty as well as success makes a world of difference in how you function in your work place and how people interact with you.

What: Attitude: It Colors Everything

When: Thursday, July 8th, 2010, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Where: Wetsel Service Center, Room 200

Who: Jake Allen

This class is designed to help you explore the tools necessary to having and maintaining the right attitude. In addition, we will discuss how to deal with those whose attitude is difficult to deal with.
