Dear All,

Per consensus in the office just now, journal club this semester will be:
JOURNAL CLUB: Thursdays 5-6pm.

I propose to lead the first journal club on the following paper, which I recently learned correctly predicted the Higgs boson mass to within 1 GeV three years before its discovery, using arguments about quantum gravity:
https://arxiv.org/pdf/0912.0208.pdf

I learned about it from the following recorded colloquium at FNAL, which may provide an easier warmup than the paper itself:
http://vms.fnal.gov/asset/detail?recid=1954008

By the way - all in my group should get this email twice, once on the journal club list and once on the REST list. If you get it 1 or 0 times, please let me know and we will fix this.
